Communities that live within the North East where womankind's mandate covers have had minimal participation in the country's development processes this is tied to past historical injustices and low levels of literacy and inadequate information and lack of media engagements: Womankind's engagements with the local communities to improve democracy and governance are:
Trainings on legal instruments and the contents of the country's supreme legal documents and chapters for the locals to have an understanding on the new constitution.
Trainings of communities on rights based approaches to raise their consciousness to engage with their service providers like the state and non state actors.
Mobilize and sensitize communities on national processes like the referendum for the pastoral communities to participate and give their positions.
Train women on leadership and political participation for them to occupy leadership positions.
Disseminate legal documents both national and international for domestication and ease of understanding.
